OSF celebrates the 30th anniversary of the "Hundred People's Association"

On April 7, the "30th Anniversary Meeting of the 100 People's Association" came to a successful conclusion.

 

This grand gathering with the theme of "America and China : A New Vision" gathered elites from various fields and lasted for 3 days.

Centennial
Also known as C100, it is a non-profit organization composed of outstanding Chinese-Americans with members from the business, political, academic and artistic fields. Famous members of the Council of 100 include architect I.M. Pei, musician Yo-Yo Ma, former President of the University of California, Berkeley, Tian Changlin, the first Chinese-American governor of the United States, Gary Locke, the first Chinese-American female mayor of the United States, Chen Liwanruo, epidemic disease research expert He Dayi, and Yahoo. Founder Yang Jieyuan, famous CEO Li Kaifu, philanthropist Tang Zhongying, TSMC Chairman Zhang Zhongmou, the late Chinese female writer Zhang Chunru and others. In the nearly 30 years since its establishment, the Club of 100 has brought together the strengths of its outstanding members and is committed to its dual mission of promoting the full participation of Chinese-Americans in American social life and promoting the development of mutually beneficial relations between the United States and the Greater China region .

 

At the awards dinner, former US Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers, former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping, US Congressman Grace Meng, TSMC founder Zhang Zhongmou, and former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd attended and delivered speeches, expressing In order to express their expectations and blessings to the 100-person meeting, many Chinese celebrities in politics, business, culture and art were present, and the famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma led the performance.

Maurice Greenberg, a well-known American entrepreneur and winner of the China Reform Friendship Medal, said that he is very optimistic about the future of China-US relations, and believes that the two countries should continue to bridge differences and maintain cooperative relations , which will make the whole world safer . Huang Ping, Chinese Consul General in New York, pointed out at the ceremony that China and the United States have many common interests and responsibilities, rely on each other, and resolve differences through dialogue rather than conflict. China's development will bring more opportunities to the United States, as the Foreign Investment Law passed during the two sessions fully demonstrates this.

Mr. Wang Zhaonan, Chairman of OSF  also attended the celebration including the dinner, the all-day annual meeting and the Town Hall forum.
At the party, Mr. Wang Zhaonan was invited to the stage to share the original intention and history of the North American International Students Foundation with everyone present.
